Welcome to AAPAW
Supporting Local Rescue. Saving More Lives.
Alamo Area Partners for Animal Welfare (AAPAW) strengthens animal rescue efforts across the San Antonio region by funding lifesaving medical care, spay/neuter services, and emergency support for animals in need. We are not a shelter. We are the support system behind dozens of independent rescue groups — helping them do more, reach further, and save more lives.

How AAPAW Makes a Difference
AAPAW exists to fill critical gaps in animal rescue — ensuring limited rescue dollars go further and more animals receive the care they need.
We do this by:
-
Funding spay and neuter surgeries to prevent pet overpopulation
-
Providing heartworm treatment assistance so dogs can become adoptable
-
Supporting Good Samaritans in treating found, injured pets
-
Strengthening a network of rescue partners through shared resources
By working behind the scenes, we help rescue organizations focus on what they do best: saving lives.
Why Support AAPAW?
Local rescue organizations are passionate and effective — but often under-resourced.
AAPAW multiplies impact by:
-
Pooling funds for greater efficiency
-
Reducing duplication of effort
-
Addressing root causes like overpopulation and untreated disease
-
Educating our community in compassionate solutions to our homeless pet population
Your support helps animals across the entire rescue community, not just one organization.
