Found a stray animal? Here’s how we can help.
First, thank you for stepping in to help a pet in need—your compassion truly saves lives. Please note: AAPAW is not a shelter and does not have facilities to take in stray or unwanted animals. Instead, we serve as a connection point to help share information with local rescue partners.
What to Expect

We will share the information you submit with our network of rescue organizations.

We cannot guarantee placement with a rescue or shelter.

In most cases, you will need to care for the animal temporarily.
Fostering is the Key to Saving Lives

The most important factor in finding help is your willingness to foster the animal you’ve rescued. Rescues often have space limitations, but if you can provide temporary care:

A rescue may be able to list the animal for adoption.

They may also assist with medical care and supplies.

You may be asked to bring the animal to adoption events.

Reality Check (Please Read Before Submitting)

Most rescuers are volunteers with limited capacity.

Without a foster, it is much harder to secure help.

You may need to house and care for the animal until placement is found.
